A note on some wider matters

The principals of this website are very much aware of the need to safeguard everyone through the varous processes, including but not limited to our web site. Safeguarding subjects will be covered within our content and in how our content is moderated with a view to helping ensure the safety of all members and guest readers at all times.

The principals of this website are also very much concerned for the future sustainability of our planet and will encourage considerations and actions that are best for the environment now and into the future. However, we appreciate that it times of war great damage is done to the environment, and that the short term defence of ourselves, family, friends and countrymen may necessitate actions which are not in the interest of the current envoronment, nor in its sustainability for the future. Environmental implications will be covered within our content and actions on this site and forum.

Some notes on posting langauge and style

Contributions from the team running this site will be in English and Ukrainan. In order to ensure readability for our readers and transparency, your posts too should be made in one of those two languages.

The following are guidelines rather than rules

* Longer posts should start with a "management summary" to help readers quickly decide whether to read a full post.

* Where a subject is already under discussion, please follow up within that thread rather than starting a new one. This helps us keep all information on a topic together. Where appropriate, moderators and administrators will merge topics.

* Posters starting a new thread should give background to help ensure readers are aware of the context. Within a thread, there is no need to repeat large chunks of what is already in that thread.

* Abbreviation should be expanded (in brackets) when first used. IMHO "[In my Humble Opinion] this will be a great help to newcomers"

* Links, references and credits should be provided wherever possible. You are encouraged to tell people about external sources. When providing links, please check that the link is available to the public and only refer people to content behind paywalls in exceptional circumstances. Where a link has limited life, please note that if you are aware.

* Please consider the readability of what you post. You can test your text at https://readabilityformulas.com/free-readability-formula-tests.php and we suggest that you aim for a Flesch Reading Ease score above 60, and / or a Gunning Fog score below 12. See the link just above for details.
